Απορροφήσιμο χειρουργικό ράμμα με ή χωρίς βελόνα - Το PDO είναι ένα αποστειρωμένο, απορροφήσιμο, συνθετικό, μονόινo χειρουργικό ράμμα, που αποτελείται από πολυεστέρα πολυδιοξανόνη. Το ράμμα πληροί όλες τις απαιτήσεις της Φαρμακοποιίας των Ηνωμένων Πολιτειών (USP) και της Ευρωπαϊκής Φαρμακοποιίας (EP) για απορροφήσιμα χειρουργικά ράμματα.

Description PDO is a sterile, absorbable, synthetic, monofilament surgical suture, composed of Polyester Polydioxanone ((C4H6O3)n). The sutures coating material is polycaprolactone and calcium stearate. PDO suture meets all the requirements of United States Pharmacopoeia (USP) and European Pharmacopoeia (EP) for absorbable surgical sutures. II．Indications The suture is indicated for use in soft tissue approximation and/or ligation but not for use in cardiovascular tissue and neurological tissue. III. Action A slight tissue inflammation may occur when PDO Sutures are placed in tissue, which is characteristic of foreign body response followed by gradual encapsulation by connective tissue. PDO Sutures have a high initial tensile strength. 75% of the original tensile strength is retained upto 14 days after surgery, 60% of the original tensile strength is retained at the end of four weeks post implantation. Absorption of PDO suture is minimal upto 10% in two weeks, and absorption is essentially complete between 180 and 210 days. IV．Adverse reactions Adverse effects associated with use of PDO include allergic response in certain patients, transient local irritation at the wound site, transient inflammatory foreign body response, erythema and induration during the absorption process of subcuticular sutures. V. Contraindications The sutures should not be used : 1. In cardiovascular and neurological tissues . 2. In patients who are allergic to its components. VI．Warnings 1. Do not re-sterilize! 2. Do not reuse! Reuse of the suture will cause the following situation during surgery: thread break, texture, dirt, connection of needle and thread break and for the patient more risks after surgery, like fever, infection thrombus, etc. 3. Do not use if the package is opened or damaged! 4. Discard open unused sutures! 5. Do not use after expiry date. VII．Cautions 1. The selection of the suture should be depended on the patient's conditions, the surgical experience, the surgical technique and the wound site. 2. PDO is not suitable for elderly or debilitated patients or patients with retarded wound healing. Tissue with poor blood circulation may reject the suture material due to the delayed absorption. 3. In the case of partly used of suture, the remaining should not be used, or there are risk for patient like fever, infection thrombus etc. 4. As this is an absorbable suture material, the use of supplemental non-absorbable sutures should be considered by the surgeon in closure of the abdomen, chest, joints or other sites subject to expansion or requiring additional support. VIII. Precautions 1. In handling this or any other suture material, care should be taken to avoid damage from handling. Avoid crushing or crimping damage due to application of surgical instruments such as forceps or needle holders. 2. Surgical procedure should follow aseptic technique practice. 3. Adequate knot security requires the accepted surgical technique of flat square ties, with additional throws as warranted by surgical circumstance and the experience of the surgeon. 4.Directly take the product out from the package for operation. 5.Hold the specific needle location to prevent the needle from damage.
